Ongoing Projects
The Mwangaza Gold Project enables women-led mining groups to access better quality ores and improved mining and processing methods. WIM Kenya supports women miners through technical training, group formalization, and the establishment of a women-led gold processing plant, promoting safety, efficiency, and collective economic empowerment.
Impact: Over 30 women have directly benefited from the Mwangaza Gold Project.
The EcoGold Project is implemented in partnership with the Kenya Industrial Research and Development Institute (KIRDI), EcoMining, and Lolgy Mining. The project focuses on introducing BioGloves to eliminate direct skin contact with mercury and high-efficiency retorts with up to 98% mercury recovery, significantly reducing mercury fumes and environmental emissions.
